Becoming a Nation

For South Sudan it is having both opportunities and challenges on its way to become a nation. It is whether they will take the advantage as much as possible and face the challenges.

Resources

More than half of South Sudan people doesn't have enough to eat while most of the people are depending on the Aid Agencies which is a short term resource and won't last forever. South Sudan have many opportunities to develop its new nation because of the immense water resources, fertile land, and un-touched woodlands and forest. But, still the land is only 4% cultivated. South Sudan neighbor's like Ethiopia and Rwanda are among the world's top 10 fastest growing economics during 2001-2010 which shows that these similar resources is a big advantage for South Sudan. The reason why only 4% of South Sudan's land is cultivated because of most of the population are soldiers and only a few a farmers because of the civil wars that had happened. South Sudan also is the world second wildlife migration of the world which is also a big advantage in South Sudan's ecotourism for people to visit and see.

Tribes

I think that one of South Sudan challenges are also armed tribes and groups that roamed the remote and fertile land. These land are very useful for farming. Conflict over these resources are very serious because of all the weapons that are available which cause attacks and banditry that happens without punishment and doesn't have a serious law against it. So if this problem is still going on, South Sudan wouldn't as fast and steady because the banditry all over the country and also the violence that happens all most every where in South Sudan.

Infrastructure
South Sudan is about the size of Texas but, have only a 100 miles of road. This shows that South Sudan needs basic infrastructure like electricity and water system. These basic need will lead to a whole new development for South Sudan. A better technology of farming and a better life for the South Sudanese people. Also it will help South Sudan to build a better water system for all the people to have access to clean water and also build more buildings and offices to make the country more civilized and all of this couldn't happen without the help of electricity and water.
